National franchising awards celebrate excellence among brands and individuals each year in Australia. Just announced, the latest line-up of winners includes home service brands, business services, food and beverage and accommodation chains.

Who won the big awards?

Poolwerx won the Australian Established Franchisor of the Year category. RAMS Home Loans, Mister Minit, Quest Apartment Hotels, SILK Laser Australia and CouriersPlease were finalists in this category.

The win was extra special for Poolwerx, which is this year celebrating its 30th birthday. When he accepted the award, Nicholas Brill, Poolwerx CEO, praised the contribution of everyone in the franchise network.

“Tonight it’s all about our franchise partners, its all about suppliers, its about all of our people,” he said.

Japanese restaurant chain OMI Group impressed the panel of judges to take out the Australian Emerging Franchisor of the Year award. Other businesses competing for the title were City Cave and Local Hero Singapore.

Ven Chin, OMI Group founder, said “We started from zero. After five years, we have 18 outlets and three retail brands. We are honoured that two of our brands were shortlisted in this category tonight.”

The global business services franchise InXpress won the International Franchisor of the Year Award for an impressive second consecutive year.

Boost Juice won an award as an Aussie brand franchising overseas.

Brands who won multiple awards

RAMS Home Loans scooped the wins with three awards. The brand won Excellence in Franchise Innovation and two franchisees took home awards for their contributions to business. Single unit franchisee Cheryl Haywood in Southern Vales beat the competition to take out the award, and Toowoomba franchisee Andrew Erlandson scooped up the Franchisee Community Responsibility and Contribution award.

Quest Apartment Hotels scored a double win for its Excellence in Marketing and Franchisor Social Responsibility.

MBCM Strata Specialists, Muffin Break and Pack & Send all celebrated individual award winners.

Franchising is a resilient business model

The awards showcased the strength of the franchise business model, said Franchise Council of Australia CEO, Mary Aldred.

“The last two years have represented some of the most difficult economic conditions ever experienced by Australian business. The resilience, adaptability and determination that has been demonstrated by all finalists and winners is truly outstanding.

“We commend each and every hard-working franchisee and franchisor across Australia for their vital contributions to employment, the economy and communities across our country,” she said.
