Muffin Break’s Great Bake Sale a success

One in three Australian schools took part in Muffin Break’s second annual Great Bake Sale, a five-week digital campaign that seeks to raise funds for the nation’s pre-schools, primary schools and high schools.

This marks a 25 percent rise in participation rates when compared to the inaugural fundraising campaign in 2012.

Of the more than 3,180 schools that voted, Queensland Independent College of Merrimac was named both the national and QLD state winner.

Muffin Break will assist the school in ensuring its Great Bake Sale is a success, with a visit from the Muffin Man and a number of other activities on the cards.

The school will also receive 1,000 of Muffin Break’s healthy-option muffins, valued at almost $4,000 to sell at the bake sale.

State winners:

  • John Palmer Public School (NSW)
  • Upper Plenty Primary School (VIC)
  • Amaroo School (ACT), Forest Primary School (TAS)
  • Glencoe Central Primary School (SA)
  • Rockingham Lakes Primary School (WA)
  • Good Shepherd Lutheran College (NT).

Each state winner receives 1,000 muffins to sell at their school bake sale on a date of their choosing, as well as three Apple iPad’s.

Muffin Break’s social media presence spiked as a result of the campaign, it received 17,539 new likes on its Facebook page over the five-week period.
