San Churro to open 30th store

The sweet treat cafe franchise chain San Churro is poised to open the doors to its 30th Australian store after just six years of trading.

Surfer’s Paradise will be the newest location when the San Churro franchise opens its next store, in December. Three outlets have been opened since June: at South Bank, Darling Harbour and Penrith.

The San Churro network is finding some landlords are now contributing to store fit-out costs in order to secure longer-term leases, and the brand’s dessert offer is viewed as a benefit in shopping centres looking to encourage shoppers to extend their time in the precinct.

According to Kim Davies, franchise recruitment manager, the San Churro outlets appeal to a variety of different cultural groups.

“The opening of our 30th store in just six short years is testament to our successful franchising formula. Spanish chocolate appeals to many different cultures and San Churro offers a great meeting place and an evening of entertainment that doesn’t necessarily involve alcohol.

“We’re working to secure the best franchise sites in Australia and would like to hear from any potential business partners who are keen to put this winning formula into action,” said Davies.
