SA hardware industry awards Danks Group independent retailers

Danks Group is celebrating after a number of Home Timber and Hardware and Thrifty-Link Hardware member stores scored wins at the South Australia Hardware Industry Awards 2008 held on 1 November 2008.

On the eve of the Danks GroupÕs 150th anniversary, members are toasting four wins and a finalist, including the coveted title of South Australian Hardware Store of the Year awarded to Bobs Home Hardware and Timber. This award honours the store judged to be foremost in delivering service, excellence in exterior an interior image, merchandising, customer facilities, store ambience and safety.

In addition to its South Australian Hardware Store of the Year Award, Bobs Home Hardware and Timber also walked away with the award for Store of the Year for stores 1000m2 to 2500m2. Fiona Rosalia was also nominated for Store Person of the Year Award.

“Winning was a very proud moment and a huge surprise,” said Fiona Rosalia from Bobs Home Hardware and Timber. “It is a credit to the whole team – the store staff, state representatives and the John Danks Group in SA— who have all worked really hard to make this happen.”

To add to the accolades, Home Hardware Tranmere won the Store of the Year category for stores under 1000m2 and Talitha Schiller from MarshallÕs Thrifty-Link Hardware was awarded with Store Trainee of the Year.
