A focus on a premium experience is crucial when your mission is to have everyday Aussies eat like a royal.
And that’s the goal at Royal Stacks – hence the name. This exceptional burger chain takes its inspiration from high-end restaurants, the natural habitat of founder Dani Zeini.
Dani takes his fine dining experience and adds a fast casual dining twist – the result, premium burgers that are as good as the best he tasted on his month-long sampling trip to the US.
As Royal Stacks’ general manager Nick Campese explains, “Our aim is for everyone to eat like a royal”.
Melbournian palates in particular are attuned to premium food and Royal Stacks’ ability to meet exacting standards has established its strong reputation across the Victorian capital.
Fine dining standards start with high quality ingredients
Royal Stacks is all about authenticity and a premium product. It starts with the star of the show – the burger. Top quality meat is at the heart of the menu and less processing results in a higher grade product. So flavour-packed, Australian beef patties are hand-rolled and the 100 per cent chicken breast fillets are always fresh, not frozen.
A testament to the brand’s commitment to the highest quality, it took Royal Stacks two years to create the signature soft buns which are baked by its selected supplier. The bread is delivered fresh every day and cut in store to maximise its freshness.
“The buns perfectly complement the beef and chicken taste and texture. It’s a bespoke recipe that took a lot of testing to get right,” Nick adds.
The premium burgers are enhanced with perfectly-matched, flavoursome sauces and many of these are freshly made in-house.
The single stack burger is the standout on the menu, a hugely popular gold standard cheese patty, packed in a signature bun with fresh lettuce and tomato sauce.
With freshness top of mind, at Royal Stacks, every patty and every batch of fries is made to order.
“Quality, freshness and hot crisp fries are paramount to our success,” Nick explains.
Royal Stacks burgers go from cult to community
Dani created these gourmet burgers well before Stacks became a fully-fledged brand; he trialled the recipes as secret menus in his full service dine-in restaurants. The big, prime quality burgers developed a cult following and Royal Stacks is the result of that upscale culinary passion. Top ingredients and palate-tempting flavours combine with restaurant values for a polished, fast casual dining experience.
While the burger menu is largely unchanged Royal Stacks’ talented chef has taken the fine-dining inspiration and whipped up a host of new dishes, including seasonal specials.
“Chef Terri uses her excellent culinary skills to develop perfectly balanced flavours. And that’s what she teaches in culinary school, which is part of a four-week franchise induction program,” Nick explains.
When Dani first launched Royal Stacks on to the market its CBD locations catered for office workers in search of the perfect burger. Now this top tier brand is approaching 20 outlets (including three at the iconic MCG) and reaching into the suburbs, providing an elevated, fast casual dining experience with fresh, cooked-to-order menu options for burger lovers of all ages.
“Families are frequenting our restaurants and the younger generation is now embracing the delights of Royal Stacks. There’s a lot of excitement seeing teens coming to Royal Stacks as a cool destination to hang out with friends on the weekends,” Nick says.
Customers in any of the unique, nostalgia-styled restaurants can enjoy a juicy, perfectly-seared premium burger and bun, a shake and crisp fries for $30.
Royal Stacks’ exacting standards, unwavering passion for top quality food and service, and distinctive restaurant settings have raised the bar for Australian burgers.
“Our customers are coming to Royal Stacks for a great experience and premium burgers; they truly are eating like royals!” Nick says.
