QLD Noodle Bar reopens after floods

Noodle franchise, Red Rock Noodle Bar, has reopened its Goodna site in Queensland after having to completely rebuild following the devastating floods in January.

The store is part of a shopping centre in St Ives, which was almost destroyed after the floods, closing many businesses for months on end.

“Goodna was one of the hardest hit areas of the floods back in January. We had water up over the roof of the shopping centre,” Red Rock MD, Phil Colburn told Franchising.

Not only did the franchise have to rebuild the site and fit it out with new equipment, it also had to find a new franchisee after insurance issues made it impossible for the original franchisee to get the business back on its feet.

Goodna’s franchisee is Andrew Burns, who also manages the North Lakes Red Rock outlet.

“This will be our second multi-site owner,” Colburn said. “He’s built the whole thing from scratch, done a complete refurb, everything’s been redone.”

After opening its doors on Monday 19 September, the Goodna store is now training new staff and running a promotion on the Triple M radio station before hosting an official relaunch in the coming weeks.
