NightOwl embraces the cloud

Convenience store franchise NightOwl has introduced the cloud-based CoyotePOS register software and CoyoteBOSS back office server program to its network of stores.

The business management software operates on a centralised system, allowing the team at head office to gather information about each of its stores.

According to CFO Stephen Donnelly, CoyoteBOSS provides in-depth reporting information about each store’s margin and inventory levels.

“CoyoteBOSS gives us the power to reduce stock holdings; monitor sales remotely; increase visibility of stock movement and fast/slow movers; produce accurate and timely reports on activity throughout the group; and produce our own barcodes and labels.

“It also allows us to run pre-timed promotions, offers, bundles, combos and multiple price levels; and import supplier invoices electronically,” he added.

The CoyotePOS software is an internet based system that operates by linking the point of sale system’s situated within each and every one of NightOwl’s stores together in real time.

“It allows management to centralise the information from each retail point in the network so that the effects of promotions and specials can be immediately analysed,” Donnelly said.

A store’s sales performance can similarly be analysed in real time and the software can be accessed from various locations including the home and office, allowing franchisees to monitor their store’s sales performance when they are not there.

“We were looking for software that could control multiple sites on a single database which could give us reliable information about what was being sold, which is why Coyote appealed to us,” he said.

The new business management software has been rolled out across all of NightOwl’s 65 stores.
