New mobile entertainment opportunity: Games2U

The mobile entertainment franchise sector in Australia has a new addition, the Games2U business which provides high action party games such as Call of Duty, for a variety of age groups.

Franchisor Wayne McNiece, a former Sydney fitness centre operator, was inspired by the number and variety of games-oriented companies in America (including the Games2U franchise network that is not associated with the Australian business). McNiece trademarked the Games2U brand in Australia and set up the model 12 months ago.

McNiece told Franchising the weekend and evening focus of the business is extended into weekdays with schools and shopping mall activities as well as games tournaments run in hotel venues.

“Everything is planned around meeting the requests of the customer. We cater for birthday parties, corporate events, presentation days and school activities.”

McNiece said “Whilst the home theatre system is an indoors environment, there is the opportunity for fun outdoor games too such as Laser Tag, Hamster Ball, T-Shirt Cannon and Guitar Hero. Our van and trailer convey all the equipment necessary to the site of the client’s choice with up to 24 people able to enjoy the activities at any one time.”

Investment in a franchise is about $40,000 plus $110,000 for all equipment.

Games2U is working with The Franchise Shop to build the franchise network and will be promoting its low cost, easy to operate system at the Sydney Franchising and Business Opportunities Expo at the Sydney Convention Centre in Darling Harbour, March 23 to 25, 2012.
