Tarig Mansour was recently awarded the Local Communtiy Hero Award by Good Beginnings Australia for his ongoing involvement in, and support of, the national charity.

The national award, which is designed to acknowledge one of Muffin Break’s 185 Australian franchisees, was announced at the biannual Foodco Conference Awards.

Mansour and his Muffin Break Macarthur Square team assist Good Beginnings through a number of community initiatives.

They provide local primary schools, Claymore Public and St. Thomas with ongoing support by regularly treating students to freshly-baked Muffin Break products and entertaining them with the Muffin Break Muffin Man.

When the kids are on school holidays Mansour and his team lend a hand to parents, keeping the kids entertained by providing free entertainment including cookie workshops through and jumping castles.

A Good Beginnings donation box also features prominently at the front register of the Muffin Break Macarthur store, enabling customers to similarly demonstrate their support for the charity.

Kye Gillies, partnership manager, Good Beginnings Australia said “we’d like to congratulate Tarig and his Muffin Break team on receiving this award and thank them for their enthusiastic hands-on involvement with their local Good Beginnings program.”

“The Macarthur community is very lucky to have such a committed and generous business that goes above and beyond to give back to the local area,” she adds.

Mansour is a passionate Macarthur local, and he explains he has thoroughly enjoyed his involvement with the charity since the partnership began three months ago.

“I was surprised to learn I had received this award, but I was also so proud that my dedicated team were recognised for their efforts in helping support the Macarthur community. I like to think of myself and my Muffin Break Macarthur Square staff as one little family who are grateful for the chance to support the community and give back to our loyal customers,” said Mansour.

Good Beginnings works to provide free early childhood and practical parenting programs in homes and schools at Good Beginnings Early Years Centres across Australia.

The charity works with local families to implement practical and community-supported early intervention strategies that benefit vulnerable children in the area.
