Franchised book retailer Dymocks has made further inroads into eBook retailing with the launch of two programs which allow eBook readers to download interactive content and access content.

DNL is a user friendly and interactive eBook reader which replicates the look and feel of a physical book and is pre-configured with function buttons so the end user can navigate and interact with the eBook. DNL eBooks can also display movies, audio and animation to reading devices.

ePub is aiming to become the international standard for eBook formats; ePub formatted eBooks can be read on BeBook, Apple iPad and Sony Reader.

“The launch of these new formats on our website will give our eBook readers an interactive and enhanced reading experience like no other,” said Dymocks CEO, Don Grover.

For example, popular childrenÕs picture books such as Lucy Goosey by Margaret Wild and Ann James downloaded in DNL format are bundled with animation and audio, allowing children to enhance language skills such as listening comprehension, pronunciation and expressive language tones.

“We have over 3,000 eBooks available in DNL format on the Dymocks website. Most impressively however, is the interactive experience with editing capabilities to customise eBooks as well as sharing notes with other eReaders,” said Grover.

More than 150,000 eBooks are available through the website, www.dymocks.com.au and now offer over 3,000 eBooks in DNL format. DymocksÕ eBook Reader, the iLiad is available from Dymocks George Street store or directly through the website.
