Brad Pitts and Jim’s Diggers – it’s a match made in marketing heaven believes Carly Thornton, divisional franchisor for the newest division of the Jim’s Group, whose first franchisee in South Australia goes by the name Brad Pitts.

“His name is very similar to the Hollywood star, which is certainly attention getting, but the digging reference to the ‘pits’ is also great. He has no option but to be our poster boy,” Carly said.

Brad, who at just 23, is also the youngest franchisee, said the decision to buy a Jim’s Diggers’ business was easy.

“I have worked in the industry since I was 18 and wanted to own my own business and not be an employee all my life. Jims Diggers is a based on a highly regarded and well-known brand. I get to be my own boss yet still have the resources of a whole team backing me every step of the way,” Brad said.

Carly Thornton, along with parents David and Linda, and brother Lee recently bought the rights to Jim’s Diggers, which they will run alongside their existing and highly successful South Australian and Victorian based earthmoving company, Dial-a-Digger.

“The Jim’s franchise system and brand was the perfect vehicle for us to assist others interested in owning a successful earthmoving and excavation business,” said Carly.

The company, whose first franchisee Robert Ryan (pictured) started up in Victoria, hopes to attract a network of franchisees Australia wide.

“We have a number of others in South Australia and Western Australia who are currently finalising training and equipment selections and we should also have guys in Tasmania and ACT before Christmas,” Carly said.
