Wokinabox has opened its second Queensland store in the Brisbane suburb of Bardon as part of its 2008 expansion plans for the Sunshine State.
Company founder and managing director Adrian Morrissy said “We have had a store in Mackay since 2006 and it has done exceptionally well, consistently in the top five stores for sales nationally and averaging growth of over 24 per cent.”
State manager Mareeann Kent expects the push into Queensland will create significant local interest for those looking to buy a business, following the success of a similar strategy in Western Australia.
“Many stores have sold themselves, with current franchisees either regular customers who loved the product or those attracted to the appealing strong brand wanting to own their own store,” she said.
The franchise taps into the growing trend towards healthy food offering a broad range of fresh ingredients cooked to order, she added.
“It encapsulates the visual excitement and exotic aromas and flavours in a simple system to ensure the business appeals to our target market of 18 to 45 year olds with well cultured food tastes and is easy for our franchisees to understand and learn.”
The franchise has grown to 34 stores across four states of Australia and New Zealand since the launch in Adelaide in 2002.
