Outskirts of Melbourne in San Churro’s sights

Chocolate and dessert franchise San Churro is opening a new chocolateria in Frankston, an outer suburb of Melbourne that is forecast to boom in the coming years.

The $730M development of the Peninsula Link Freeway combined with a planned $114M upgrade of Frankston’s railways has generated immense interest in the area as it becomes more accessible to Melbourne.

Eager to cash in on the flourishing suburb, San Churro will open a new store within Bayside’s entertainment precinct, and it is looking for local franchisees to operate stores in the region.

“We’re looking forward to opening a chocolateria in Frankston’s flourishing retail precinct and are incredibly excited about Frankston’s potential to become not just a great place to do business but also a real destination for visitors,” said San Churro’s founder, Giro Maurici.

“We’re selective about where we position San Churro outlets – rather than aiming to be on every street corner we’re looking for premium locations that offer our franchisees excellent return on their investment and Frankston ticks all the right boxes.”

According to Frankston City Council, a number of other developments including hospital and university upgrades, additional office buildings and apartment complexes and a new $50m aquatic centre will bring more than 2,000 new jobs to the region.
