Gotcha Fresh Tea‘s general manager, operations/franchising, shares some brand essentials.
How long has the business been trading, and how long franchising?
Gotcha Fresh Tea started off from humble beginnings in 2017 and started franchising in 2018. Since then we’ve grown to 12 other countries and have 50 stores locally in Australia.
What does it cost to buy a franchise?
It costs from $200,000 +GST.
What are the core areas of your company’s business?
We farm our own tea, using our strong relationship with our suppliers which enable us to provide low cost but premium supplies to our franchise partners so they remain profitable.
Who is a typical customer?
At Gotcha, it’s more than a drink; it’s a crafted experience. We attract both locals and international crowds.
What makes your brand stand out from the competition?
At Gotcha, we’re one of the few brands that grow our own tea, ensuring premium quality from farm to cup. Every drink is freshly brewed in store, using real tea leaves, with natural and carefully selected ingredients with no artificial flavours. As an Australian grown brand, we introduced authentic Asian bubble tea to local palates and continue to lead with bold flavours, innovative brewing techniques, and a passion for detail.
Why is this a good business for a franchisee to buy into?
It’s proven model, as we’ve franchising since 2018 and have grown into 200+ stores over the years in Australia and internationally.
We provide a system that is scalable from a single-unit to multi-sites and offer on-going support from our own in-house operational and marketing teams.
Which element of franchisee support is the most well received?
This would be our marketing support. We launch new menu items every six to eight weeks; refreshing and enticing offers to encourage our new and existing loyalty customers to come back to our stores.
How many hours a week does a franchisee typically work?
A franchisee works between 30 and 40 hours a week.
What drives your growth strategy?
Speed to launch in international space is the driver for Gotcha. Expansion to other regions exposes the brand awareness and franchising opportunities.
What are your expansion plans for the next five years?
We’re looking to open up our first stores in various new country markets in the coming months such as Japan, Malaysia and India.
