Things are looking up at McDonald’s; with the fast food chain reporting a key sales figure increased by 2.6 percent in May.

According to the company, the result is reflective of its decision to focus on two key things – new menu items and more affordable offerings.

The Loose Change menu is one such example, where customers can purchase a cheeseburger, chips or similar with a gold coin.

From a regional perspective, the company fared best in its native US, where the figure increased by 2.4 percent, reports InsideRetail.

In Europe, the figure was up by two percent; meanwhile in the regions of Asia, the Middle East and Africa the company enjoyed an 0.9 percent increase.
