A new Marketplace Supa IGA supermarket has opened its doors in Bathurst. The state-of-the-art multi format supermarket is owned by the Bernardi family, which now has five outlets in its portfolio.

As well as the Bathurst store, the Bernardis have a Blayney outlet, two in Forbes, and a new West Wyalong supermarket.

In addition to the regular supermarket aisles the Bathurst store includes a delicatessen and bakery, a liquor outlet, cafe,  DVD vending machine and undercover parking.

Staff uniforms include butcher aprons and deli hats to reflect the marketplace ambience.

Joseph Bernardi, one of the three brothers in the group said, “The Marketplace SUPA IGA Plus Liquor in Bathurst will bring a contemporary new shopping precinct to Bathurst, giving a boost to the area, and delivering what we believe to be an exciting new store combination to meet the specific needs of customers.

“With a range of amenities on site, extensive ranges across all categories and the marketplace ambience, we believe that the supermarket will be well received in the market, while continuing to offer our established IGA customer service and competitive pricing,” he added.
