Crust’s new take on mobile dining

Gourmet pizza franchise Crust has developed a new mobile dining experience to push its four new Upper Crust pizza varieties.

The Upper Crust bicycle invites customers to take a seat at its moving table with wheels and enjoy a complimentary slice of pizza from the new range.

Crust’s marketing manager Renee North said the concept highlights how easy it is to transform an ordinary occasion into a memorable one.

“The Upper Crust dining experience celebrates our new Upper Crust pizzas; but it also celebrates the idea that the best experiences are those where you take a simple occasion and through your own creativity and design, make it that little bit more special.”

The bicycle upholds the shared dining trend, which North said is the best way to enjoy pizza.

“We hope that our campaign will inspire people to create their own unique shared experiences with friends and family.”

The four new pizza varieties take their inspiration from current food trends, and a South American slant is evident across the range.

  • Pulled pork and slaw – twice cooked shredded pork and caramelised onions topped with  fresh pear, Vietnamese slaw and garlic aioli on a barbeque base
  • Black bean burrito – black bean casserole, roasted capsicum, jalapenos and caramelised onions topped with avocado salsa on a tomato salsa base
  • BLT with avocado salsa – baby spinach, tomato and twice cooked bacon topped with avocado salsa, garlic aioli, cracked pepper and sea salt
  • Salt and pepper calamari – dusted calamari, roasted capsicum, shallots and toasted pine nuts topped with pesto aioli and lemon

The Upper Crust bicycle was launched on the Gold Coast on 2 November, and it will visit the cities of Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide over the next three months.
