Cairns Retravision now Betta Home Living

Betta Home Living has added yet another store to its expanding portfolio, the 84-year old Cairns Retravision store, which is now known as Kennedy’s Betta Home Living.

The store is owned by William and Leonie Kennedy and managed by their daughter Janelle Given.

Given said she was surprised by just how easy the transition was.

“We were expecting the whole process to be quite challenging because of all the logistics involved.

“But the team at Betta has made it an absolute breeze and I’m looking forward to building a future with the company,” she said.

The shift has granted the store more buying power, which means it is now able to offer customers better pricing and more competitive discounts, as well as a greater selection of brands.

“We’ve inherited more brands such as LG and European brands Beko and Miele.

“Beko offers affordable well-made kitchen and laundry appliances and Miele is recognised as a high-end brand for the kitchen and laundry,” said Given.

The store has also expanded it’s IT section, as the team realised many people were going online to buy these products.

“We found customers were looking online and to mass merchants for IT products so we shifted our focus to appeal to more of a niche market,” said Given.

For the first time in it’s history, the store will also be stocking a selection of furniture products.

Given said the family-run business was one of the first in Cairns to sell electrical appliances, and it is at the core of who they are.

“I’m looking forward to carrying on the Kennedy name and showing customers what we have to offer, particularly as our store continues to grow and evolve,” she said.
