Boost jumps on the green juice bandwagon [video]

To celebrate the launch of its new green smoothies and juices range, Boost Juice is handing them out for free.

Prior to the launch of the new range Boost hit the streets of Melbourne to find out how people’s consumption habits are dictated by the debit/credit concept, whereby an unhealthy act can be cancelled out by a healthy one.

This led the brand to launch a temporary website that poses the question: do you need a green day?

When users visit the website they are met by a VJ who encourages them to enter the reason they need a green day. For example, they haven’t been to the gym in weeks, or have eaten an entire cake.

To reward them for their interaction, Boost places users in the daily draw to win a free green smoothie or juice.

In addition, the website includes recipes for creating green smoothies and juices at home, and it outlines the benefits of the seven main ingredients used in Boost’s green smoothies and juices.

The new range comprises:

  • The Grape Escape – banana, coconut, spinach, pineapple, green grapes
  • Veggie Garden – cucumber, celery, carrot, orange, spinach, chia
  • Mint Condition – mint, celery, cucumber, apple, spinach
  • Caribbean Green – mango, coconut, banana, passionfruit, coconut, spinach

Each variety is dairy and gluten free, low in fat, and contains at least one serving of greens. Green smoothies contain at least two servings of fruit, meanwhile the juices contain at least one.

The website, which will remain online until 30 November, has received 30,000 unique hits over the past two weeks, and Boost has given away in excess of 1000 free green smoothies and juices.

The video includes the candid responses of some of the Melburnians who took part in Boost’s vox pop. Some were so candid, they had to be omitted.
