Franchisees of the Eastlands Boost Juice store in Hobart will donate every dollar generated from sales on Friday, 18 January to the Red Cross Tasmanian Bushfires 2013 Appeal.

Upon hearing about the 100.9 Sea FM radiothon, an initiaitve that aims to raise funds to assist those affected by the devastating bushfires, business partners Jane Stephens and Lyn Higgins immediately wanted to take part.

Stephens explains that the fact the bushfires hit so close to home, both geographically and emotionally, further comeplled the duo to take action and do something to assist the victims.

“We are hearing many stories first-hand from our regular customers who have been affected by the fires,” she said.

“One of our team members’ has a family farm where property, animals and pastures were destroyed so we’ll do anything we can to get people and these communities back on their feet.”

She encourages locals to head down to Boost Juice on Friday and take part in the cause.

The radiothon will run from 6am through to 3pm, and a number of radio, television and sports stars are set to be involved.

According to Rod Maldon, program director Sea FM, “it will be a mammoth day of giving.”
