Beaumont Tiles plans to open a $11m facility to service its stores across New South Wales. The distribution centre will be in Western Sydney at Huntingwood and is expected to be operational early this year.

It will provide 10,000sq m of space and will follow an ecologically sustainable design in keeping with the firm’s own ethos, said chief operations officer Danny Casey.

“It will be a one-stop shop for tradespeople in the Greater West with a full range of glues, grouts, cleaners, tools, saws and cutters and our wide range of tools and pavers.”

Bob Beaumont, managing director of the Adelaide-based family firm, said the distribution centre’s location is ideal: 39 km west of the CBD with ready access to motorways which feed into the WestConnex link and Port Botany.

“Beaumont Tiles moves about 60 semi-trailer loads of tiles through its Australian supply chain each week so access to efficient logistics is critical,” he said.

“We’re looking at opening our new store sites mainly in metropolitan Sydney where we currently have five shops. The distribution centre will service their needs as well as those of our future outlets.”

Right now there are 18 retail outlets across New South Wales, and up to 12 new stores predicted.

  • The first new store in the tile retailer’s expansion in New South Wales will be a franchised outlet at Caringbah in Sydney’s south.
