Just two months after a devastating fire burned down his store, Battery World franchisee Matt Fulford has opened the doors to a new store.

Built just 600 metres from where the original store stood, the new facility has a fresh look and feel and a wider range of products to power every Aussie’s passion.

Surviving the challenges of running a business during the pandemic and managing the aftermath of the fire, Matt said he was feeling positive for the future, launching the new store on its 19th anniversary.

“It’s no doubt been a challenging start to the year but we are grateful that everybody was safe,” Matt said.

“The Maddington store has been servicing the community for 19 years so it’s an honour to be able to kick-off its 20th year in business with a fresh start.

“If there’s one thing I have learned from the last year and half, it’s that our community is everything and without the support of our customers in buying local, we wouldn’t be able to provide the service we do. We look forward to powering the Maddington community for another 19 years and more!”

Battery World’s general manager, Johnny Kennedy said franchisees across the battery group have shown resilience through the challenging times and have invested in strengthening their local community engagement.

“Even through all the uncertainty, it’s great to see our local stores backing our brand and not letting their challenges barrier them from success” Johnny said.

“Matt and his team are a prime example of the quality customer service and product expertise we deliver day in, day out and I am excited to see him take the new Maddington store to greater heights.”

In his six years with Battery World, Matt has expanded his territory to own Battery World Canning Vale, Welshpool and Belmont.
