Poolwerx makes a splash at national franchise awards

Poolwerx scooped a double win at the national Franchise Council of Australia Excellence in Franchising awards this week, thanks to an effective marketing campaign and a powerhouse field manager.

The pool service brand took out the Excellence in Marketing award, for a two-month campaign that leveraged smart technology and data insights to generate close to 1,500 leads directly to franchisees.

Poolwerx’ second award went to Queensland business development manager Phil Colburn who was named Field Manager of the Year.

Phil was recognised for the support, advice and coaching he delivered to franchisees and team members throughout the year, and for his commitment to professional development within both the franchising and pool sectors.

A franchising stalwart with more than 30 years experience, Phil is responsible for the growth of the Brisbane South, Northern Territory and New Zealand regions. In his role, he looks after the 27 franchisees who operate 25 stores and 45 territories.

According to Nic Brill, Poolwerx chief operating officer, “Phil truly embodies the Poolwerx values, putting people first, finding the better way and daring to succeed – always”.

“Phil is an undeniably remarkable member of our team and this national recognition is very well deserved,” he said.

Talking of the marketing team’s gong, Nic said the award-winning campaign resonated not just with clients but the broader community. “Our campaign to promote pool blankets to help reduce water consumption at the height of the drought tapped into the sustainability zeitgeist while providing a real solution.”

He said the awards stand testament to the strength of the Poolwerx business model.

“Our team’s passion, determination, and motivation for constant improvement continue to drive our business forward.,” he said. Poolwerx is an Aussie brand founded 27 years ago.
