Wray Organic Market & Cafe is a new franchise opportunity from Queensland. The concept was started in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast four years ago and a new store has been opened every year.
Owners Deborah Wray and Gary Davis are now on the search for franchisees to expand the business which has a tagline of ‘affordable real food’.
Wray told Franchising The focus is on fruit and veg in our market. People think organic and think dying on the shelf and expensive. This is not the case in our stores. Almost daily deliveries keep produce fresh.
The business is environmentally friendly and chemical free, and it supports sustainable farming and animal welfare. Organic produce and products are sourced direct from growers, manufacturers and distributors.
In addition to foods, there are cleaning, baby and personal care products on the shelves.
The pair have spent more than a year making the business compliant for franchising.
It’s important to find the right people who fit with our beliefs. They need to be able to work hard, this is a seven day a week business, and a couple works really well in our business model, said Wray. They have to be living the philosophy, she added.
A turn key franchise costs between $450,000 and $500,000 depending on location. The model includes a cafe, serving coffees, juices, salads and organic cakes.
Wray and Davis are particularly interested in expanding into the Sydney area.
