regional Australia opportunity Megasealed

Why regional Australia is a prime opportunity for Megasealed

A quick fix isn’t always the best solution, but with Megasealed it’s a real win. The bathroom and balcony repair business has 30 years of experience, and has created proprietary products and systems for franchisees to repair leaking showers and balconies without removing tiles.

Megasealed has delivered more than 600,000 jobs over its three decades – that’s an impressive legacy. For customers, knowing the bathroom and balcony repair business has been around for so long adds to its appeal.

And it makes it a natural fit for regional Australia, where trust and brand reputation are highly regarded, says Lisa Farrugia, business development manager for Megasealed.

“We focus on repair, restoration, and protection, providing solutions that suit the customer. Fixing the problem doesn’t always mean a complete renovation, and we’ve got a lot of experience behind us to understand what will work best,” Lisa says.

While bathroom repairs are the most in-demand service, Megasealed can treat all wet area environments, including laundries and kitchens – in commercial and residential properties.

“As people are selling, a lot of the building and pest reports are showing that they’ve got issues, and we’ve been getting a lot of referrals from the building and pest inspectors,” she says.

Megasealed franchisees also work with real estate agents and strata firms, tapping into the demand for property maintenance.

And with a brand new service – Megabath, which can replace shower tray or bath linings – there are even more services for franchises to offer.

Megasealed targets regional areas

The brand’s success in metro areas means there are limited opportunities now for new franchisees to enter the city markets. The big opportunities lie in more regional areas – from Hervey Bay to Cairns, Albury to Wagga Wagga, from Bendigo to Wangaratta.

“We are really focusing on developing regional New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland,” Lisa says. Hobart and Launceston are also key targets.

These are ideal locations for a mobile business. In the metro areas, buying into the franchise has required purchasing a three-territory package for a management-style business. With the distances covered in regional territories, a single exclusive territory gives franchisees plenty of scope for development.

And with full training provided, this is a business opportunity open to anyone with a good customer service attitude, someone who likes building relationships.

It’s an ideal, full-time, hands-on business although franchisees also work with sub-contractors.

“A mixture of both works well, so franchisees are able to focus on business-building,” Lisa says.

The franchisor provides valuable ongoing support beyond training so franchisees can make the most of their business opportunity.

Access to national clients

And while franchisees need to source new business themselves, they also receive leads through the national support office. The franchisor is also on hand to help with presentations to a real estate agent or a strata company, and to assist in securing and managing bigger clients.

“Some big real estate chains or hotel groups don’t want to deal with multiple people across all their locations. They want to deal with just one. That’s where my role comes in. I’m the main contact and filter the jobs through to franchisees,” Lisa explains.

This gives regional franchisees access to clients they may otherwise be unable to secure. It’s another practical benefit to buying into the brand.

From a simple idea to a broad network of franchises, from residential clients to national firms, Megasealed is delivering plenty of opportunities for keen franchisees.
