Workout World’s newest franchise, located in Capalaba, will open its doors early this month, bringing the total number of franchises in Queensland to eight.

The 400 sqm fitness equipment specialist is located on Capalaba’s busy bulky goods strop in Redland Bay Road.

Workout World marketing manager, Mark Garrahy, said Australians’ desire to be fit and healthy continues to be an encouraging trend. “The fitness equipment retail market is in good shape in 2009. Although some retail communities have suffered during the global financial crisis, Workout World is continuing to report solid sales of fitness equipment, fitness accessories and nutrition products.”

Over recent years, Garrahy has noticed an increase in the number of people deciding to convert their garages or family rooms into home gyms.

“Customers recognise that our specialist staff and access to quality brands provides them with peace of mind when they make their fitness equipment choices,” he said.

There are 34 Workout World franchises across Australia, with another store in Townsville due to open later this year.
