Sprenger springs into FFCo

Michelle Sprenger, the franchising expert who helped to make Brumby’s Bakeries the second largest bakery chain in Australia, has been named Franchised Food Company’s (FFCo) business manager.

Sprenger will manage Cold Rock and Mr Whippy within Queensland and the Northern Territory from the Brisbane office. She will focus on local marketing, training and induction and ensuring the consistency and strength of the brands.

I’m very excited to be involved in growing Franchised Food Company into a major franchising group, she said.

A successful franchise system is based on a strong culture, training, relationship building, respect and working towards common goals for both the franchisee and the franchisor.

FFCo was established as an umbrella company that holds the interests and rights of Cold Rock, Mr Whippy and Pretzel World.

Sprenger’s appointment follows that of franchisee specialist, Michael Sherlock, who headed Brumby’s Bakeries from 1999 to 2007, to FFCo’s board as executive chairman in September.

Sprenger was previously Brumby’s Queensland business manager for eight years and the business manager for Ella Bache beauty salons in Queensland and the Northern Territory for 14 months. She was awarded Business Development Manager of the Year in 2006 and 2007 as part of Brumby’s Bakeries International Franchise Conference awards.
