Cafe chain Shingle Inn will open its 25th store at Westfield Eastgardens next week and reach another milestone with the upcoming launch of its first Canberra outlet.

Co-director of Shingle Inn, Andrew Bellchambers, said “ItÍs hard to believe that barely two and a half years ago we were a company-run chain of eight stores and this time next week weÍll be opening our 25th store.”

Andrew and his brother Peter have been responsible for building the franchise network and replicating the elegant, traditional original Shingle Inn cafe that first opened in Edward Street Brisbane in 1936.

“ItÍs very important to us to maintain the heritage of the brand including the companyÍs reputation for superior quality coffee, cakes and food that has enabled Shingle Inn to remain a market leader for more than 75 years.

“Our focus in 2012 is to expand our presence in southern markets. We opened our first store at Westfield Hornsby late last year and our second NSW store at Westfield Chatswood in March hence our focus is really on capturing the hearts and minds of our new customers who may be discovering the delicious joys of a trip to Shingle Inn for the first time.”
