San Churro clocks up $1 million worth of sales in seven days

While some sectors of the retail industry may be struggling, it seems food retailing is on the up, with chocolate franchise San Churro producing $1 million in sales last week.

The figure represents a 65 percent increase on the collective amount the brand’s stores earned over the same week in 2012.

San Churro’s 33 stores across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia averaged more than $30,000 in revenue over the past seven days.

It seems the company’s founder Giro Maurici formula for success is simple: “You don’t need to be an accountant to see how the smiles that we have been putting on our customers faces, are translating to our franchisee partners and their bank managers as well!”

He also attributes the result to:

  • The brand’s strong retail offering
  • A seasonal menu focus
  • Larger stores
  • The opening of a number of new outlets in areas including Wollongong, Erina, Penrith and Adelaide

The result has also been prompted by the 10 percent year-on-year sales growth at stores that have been open for more than fifteen months.
