It seems 2012 proved quite successful for the Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill franchise, with the company opening a new store every six weeks.

The company has reported that each of its stores had an average sales turnover of one million dollars per annum for the 12 months to 30 September 2012.

From January to December 2012, the company says its total network sales reached $34 million, and it has achieved at least a seven per cent growth in sales since the 2009 financial year.

Brett Carman, general manager, Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill said the business is performing incredibly well despite tough retail conditions and increased competition within the sector.

“Salsa’s partners have performed well in the last 12 months, in part, due to our proven business platform led by an experienced executive team focused on maximising growth,” he said.

Carmen said that the company will focus on implementing new marketing campaigns in order to attract customers this year, and it has plans for further expansion.

“We will open at least ten Salsa’s stores in Australia in 2013, and given consumers have plenty of choice, we’re constantly challenging ourselves to find better ways to attract and retain customers.”

“Marketing campaigns such as our first pop-up store at the Australian Open performed 30 per cent above sales forecasts, and next month we launch an awesome range of street tacos made with fresh, healthy ingredients,” he said.

The Mexican food craze was in full force throughout 2012, with Salsas Fresh Mex Grill, Mad Mex, Guzman Y Gomez and Zambrero franchises, among others, popping up left, right and centre, so it will be interesting to see how they fare in 2013.

Salsas Fresh Mex Grill currently has 37 stores located in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
