Ready Steady Go Kids’ newest franchisee expands network

The latest franchisee to join the Ready Steady Go Kids network is a mother and passionate sportswoman, Karina Hickman who began her classes in Albury in April this year.

Karina will be opening another location, which will offer a physio-designed, multi-sport program to young children, this month.

With 10 different sports covered in the program, children will have the opportunity to develop age appropriate gross, fine motor skills and sportsmanship.

Karina is incredibly pleased by how well the physio-designed, multi-sport program has been received in the local community so far, and she hopes her Wodonga business will enjoy a similar fate.

“We already have a large number of students enrolled in Albury, which is fantastic. We’re looking forward to receiving a great response from families when we open in Wodonga in July, too,” she said.

Karina attributes much of her success in the region to the fact that the business has filled a gap in the market.

“Previously there wasn’t a whole lot for really young children to do [in the region] so Ready Steady Go Kids is proving to be a real hit.”

She believes the multi-sport program is also second to none. “We encourage kids to try their best while also challenging them to do a little better than they think they can. And the 1:6 instructor to student ratio allows us to spend time with each child and recognise where individuals might need some extra help,” Karina said.

Ready Steady Go Kids director Stuart Derbyshire said Karina’s passion for both the program and her students serves as an inspiration to all.

“She’s a true supporter of our aim to teach children to become more healthy and active not just now, but for life.”

Albury classes are currently held at the Albury PCYC on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, meanwhile Wodonga classes will begin in Term 3 on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings at St Monica’s Primary School.

Karina will be running an open day for Wodonga families to test out the program for themselves on 13 July at St Monica’s Primary School stadium between 10am and 12pm.
