Paramatta San Churro store takes out El Numero Uno award

Parramatta San Churro store franchisees Kris and Bobbi Aceski recently received the prestigious El Numero Uno award at the company’s annual franchise awards.

The brothers were deemed worthy of the award because their store had produced impressive results in the areas of profitability, merchandising, compliance, local area marketing and growth.

It has achieved double-digit growth each year since opening in 2009.

Kris believes the store has been so successful because he and his brother have systemised almost every aspect of the business.

This helps to ensure the business runs like clockwork, even when they are not there.

“We’re always looking for ways that we can systemise different processes within the business.

“For example we used to recruit based on our feeling that the candidate would do a good job, but now we have a ranking system, where candidates are given a score for each criteria and the candidate with the most points gets the job,” he said.

This mean floor managers can hire new staff when the brothers are overseas or away on business.

A system that outlines the steps junior staff members must take in order to secure a promotion has also been created.

To promote a positive working environment, they have implemented a ‘staff karma index,’ where staff members can earn and lose points based on how they contribute to the team as a whole.

For example, if one staff member covers a shift for another staff member, they will earn a point, meanwhile the other may lose a point.

Kris and Bobbi are looking to buy their second San Churro franchise with the profits they have made from the Parammatta store.
