Popular pizza chain Ooshman is poised to unveil an exciting new menu, designed to maximise flavour and minimise costs.
The menu overhaul comes hot on the heels of a major rebrand, which elevated the 20-store business in the busy pizza marketplace.
Founded as Manoosh Pizzeria back in 2008 in Sydney’s Enmore, today Ooshman is returning to its Lebanese roots.
Manoosh, the traditional Lebanese flatbread, takes a starring role and founder Charlie Hoyek is doubling down on maximum customer appeal by adding value options.
For instance, a 10 inch Manoosh pizza for a budget-friendly $10.
The menu includes premium, cost-conscious items
The new focus on cost-effective options is benefitting customers, Charlie points out. “We’ve got prices to suit everyone, with meal options at under $10, $15, $20 and $25.”
The new menu targets customers looking to save money but eat well, and those happy to spend a bit more.
“Whichever the price level, there is quality in every single Ooshman product,” Charlie says.
The result of the months-long menu overhaul is a menu that works for customers and franchisees, Charlie says.
“It’s cost-effective and innovative, with a focus on fresh and flavoursome ingredients. We’ve cut back our traditional pizzas slightly and focused more on Manoosh and innovative items.
”Think freshly baked baguettes and oven-fresh wraps; think key ingredients such as avocado, egg and burrata cheese.
“While we’re sticking to the basics, we are providing excellent product at a value price,” Charlie says. “The menu is just right.
“In our brand new menu we are making everything as fresh as possible, prepping veggies daily in store. Customers will have a much better experience,” he says.
“We want the stores to thrive. The economics are tough for everyone right now, so we’ve had to work really smart and hard on this menu, and it’s going to be a game changer!”
Breakfast is served!
Traditionally an Ooshman store caters for lunch and dinner; an exciting new development adds breakfast options to the menu.
Charlie says stores will introduce a further bolt on menu to the new Manoosh range, which will consist of six daily popular breakfast items served but with a twist.
The Sans Souci store will be the first to offer dishes like smashed avocado on freshly baked zaatar baguette, Sujuk or bacon and eggs with wild rocket, cheese and sauce on a freshly baked OOSH-fold.
Stores in Enmore, Waterloo, St Clair and Maroubra will follow suit for the breakfast launch.
“Our franchise partners put their hands up to be involved as they’re keen to get into the breakfast offer,” Charlie says.
Ooshman signed a robust deal with a major coffee supplier. Barista coffee will be served.
Training franchisees and staff on the new menu and processes is crucial for a successful rollout, and Ooshman has ensured this began in plenty of time for the menu unveiling in late May.
Innovation is crucial to stay ahead of competition
“It’s really exciting,” Charlie says. “And we’re kicking off momentum to recruit more franchise partners after our big rebrand and menu overhaul.
“You have to keep changing, innovating, to stay ahead. We’ve been established a long time and we have spent millions on tech and processes: we have our own app and ordering, and a big online presence. Now we are refocusing on the in-store experience,” Charlie says.
“We moved away from dine-in but we’re coming back to it in with the new menu launch. One of our goals is to bring more people back to an Ooshman store, and this fresh menu is part of the appeal.”
