Mr Rental Whangarei franchisee, Mark Bogle, has beaten 21 other stores in the system to take out the rental franchise’s Community Involvement award.

Bogle took over the Whangarei store earlier this year and has since been committed to social responsibility, regularly participating in charity events.

“We’ve continued to support the Cancer Society in their local fundraising initiatives including the Relay for Life and the Annual Daffodil Day Golf Tournament, and now we also sponsor the Whangarei Girls High School first and second eleven hockey teams,” Bogle said.

He added that the Mr Rental team was an active participant in the events and often donated services and prizes.

“Mr Rental’s involvement in the Relay for Life was probably the highlight of the year, for us.

“We really got behind the 24 hour event. As well as entering a team we set up a tent with a treadmill, a fridge and a TV for other teams to use when they weren’t running around the track.”

Business at the Whangarei store is doing well, and Bogle says its participation in charity events has helped it to grow even further.

“We may need to relocate to bigger premises next year to cater for increased demand,” he said.
