International franchising awards

International franchisors can nominate themselves for the Singapore based Franchising & Licensing Association Awards 2009.

The FLA Awards, to be held for the fifth time this year, provides a platform to showcase successful franchise concepts.

Douglas Foo, chairman, FLA, said îThere is no doubt that franchising is increasingly becoming the preferred method for local companies to expand their operations globally and every year we are seeing more and more examples of businesses which have successfully established themselves overseas. By giving these players their due recognition, we are effectively raising the benchmark for franchising both locally and internationally. I strongly encourage franchisors and franchisees to come forward and showcase their efforts.î

There are four categories in the FLA Awards but only one open to international businesses; International Franchisor of the Year, in which the winner will be recognized for its success in establishing its franchised business system as the best among the international nominees and will also be acknowledged as the benchmark for all franchising businesses.
