Lisa Denvir is one of two brand new national franchise business partners making an impact in the HomeCaring business.
The newly-appointed roles ensure franchisees are getting a premium level of support to achieve their growth goals.
“I see myself very much as a franchise partner advocate. If they need help with an issue, I push that rock up the hill for them,” Lisa says. “I can be the conduit to the support team.”
In effect she is the face of franchisees in corporate meetings, able to reflect the broader trends and issues she observes across the business.
“Our job is getting to know the franchisees and their markets and identify how we can uplift our mutual business,” Lisa says.
The brand’s joint venture model ensures a tight-knit relationship between franchise partners and the franchisor, and it’s truly a win-win situation when franchises grow.
HomeCaring supports franchise partners to provide great service
Lisa and her colleague Brooke are primed to grow the business in a changing and heavily regulated aged and disability care environment.
“It’s important to remain agile to meet new reforms, and support franchise partners to provide great service. That’s what drives our business,” Lisa says.
Not only does HomeCaring stand out for its premium franchise support and its sector-unique joint venture model, it draws its franchisees from a particular industry pool.
HomeCaring insists its franchisees have nursing experience, a decision that always marked the business as a premium operation and now places it in pole position in the changing regulatory landscape.
New rules from 1 July 2025 will require aged care services to have a registered nurse (RN) involved in the business.
“We’re at an advantage because we’re well set up for this at HomeCaring. Many other brands don’t have an RN but our structure is already established,” Lisa says.
Franchise partners bring nursing and care qualifications to their businesses; many however lack business experience. Lisa and Brooke take onboarded franchisees through the early stages of their business, providing support across the first six to 12 months.
While Brooke brings aged care experience to her role, Lisa’s experience is in disability. Lisa generally works with franchises that have more NDIS business, Brooke looks after those who are predominantly servicing aged care clients.
The team helps create strategies for franchisees to scale their business
The pair delivers essential, high-level support for newer franchisees and provides established, valuable assistance to experienced franchise partners scaling their businesses.
“Some of our very big franchisees have their own finance, operations and IT teams, they are self-sufficient and well-established. Others have grown quickly and need support putting the right structure in place,” Lisa points out.
They conduct thorough discussions with every franchisee, and the finance team, to develop a structured business strategy for 12-18 months. The aim is to create an organic organisation driven by practical steps to achieve its outlined goals.
“We have realistic conversations with franchise partners. If you want to grow by x, what do you need to do? If you grow your business by 250 hours, what does that look like? We unpack how to do it,” Lisa explains.
“We plan it out and include everyone who participates in the growth. It is time consuming but immensely valuable; it gives us and our franchise partners a picture of growth. And there is accountability,” Lisa says.
Lisa can draw on her career leading overseas restaurant chains to share valuable franchise insights.
Add to this her nine years in the community sector, working with young people experiencing temporary homelessness through to providing support accommodation in the disability sector, and she is well-placed to support HomeCaring franchisees in their growth strategy.
“I made a concerted decision to leave the not-for-profit sector,” she explains. “When people and profit are involved it creates more ethical fiscal decisions, you have a responsibility to spend wisely.
“I like that it creates underlying mindfulness. At HomeCaring we have our partners at the front of all our decisions,” Lisa says.
