FFCo acquires Europa Coffee, opens new drive-thru

Franchised Food Company’s (FFCo) latest acquisition, Europa Coffee will open a new drive-thru outlet at Kings Way, South Melbourne on 8 November.

It is hoped the drive-thru will attract city workers on their way to and from the office, passing lunchtime traffic and local passers-by, by virtue of its proximity to the city’s CBD.

The Europa Coffee brand positions itself as a more upmarket offering than its competitors in the drive-thru market.

Its drive-thrus serve up Ducale coffee and a range of breakfast and lunchtime options including pastries, sandwiches and pies, and Europa plans to alter its menu to reflect the seasons.

Europa Coffee’s general manager, Colin Hirschman believes the new outlet will add value to the brand and provide customers with access to their favourite food and beverages.

“Melburnians love coffee and want it on the go, so we’re providing caf_ style coffee and food items at the consumer’s absolute convenience,” he said.

FFCo’s CEO, Stan Gordon said Europa Coffee signals a whole new offering for the company. “[It] marks an exciting achievement and further development for FFCo”, he said.

“The drive-thru concept is all about making life easier for people, with several coffee chains embarking on this idea. We are thrilled to be a part of such an exciting new concept and we’re constantly on the lookout for new opportunities in the fun treats arena to enable us to grow. We hope to expand the Europa Coffee brand with the same enthusiasm.”

Gordon added FFCo is constantly on the lookout for new concepts that will benefit all those with a vested interest in the brand, regardless of whether they be an investor or consumer.

“We always have our sights set on new exciting ideas that will benefit all stakeholders – not just shareholders but our customers – and we’re keen to continue to be at the forefront of the franchising game.”

“If you’re headed towards the city along Kings Way, look out for the big orange Europa Coffee building. And watch this space… there’s more to come!”, he said.

The new drive-thru will be open seven days, from 5am – 6pm Monday to Friday, 6am – 6pm on Saturdays and 8am – 4pm on Sundays.
