Bucking Bull’s new supermarket model

The first Bucking Bull store to be integrated into a supermarket model has opened in Goodna, west of Brisbane, outside the IGA.

Aktiv Brands is the development and management company behind Bucking Bull, and its executive director Dean Vella said “We’ve identified great potential in this type of model. Without the costs usually associated with operating within a shopping centre, we’re able to minimise overhead expenses yet maximise convenience for our customers,” he said.

“The Goodna store is really a first for the brand. You’ll find a Bucking Bull in just about every major shopping centre in or around Brisbane and the Gold Coast but Goodna is the first store to be integrated into a local supermarket environment.”

The location is typical of the sites Aktiv Brands will consider in the future.

The complex was opened with special appreances by Broncos star Alfie Langer and the restaurant mascot, Buck the bull.

  • Store franchisee Gaurav Bansal also owns the newly opened IGA supermarket. Bansal has worked to make the complex as environmentally sound as possible, using LED lights in the fridges, and an environmentally friendly refrigerant.
