Franchise stores opening in the new Brisbane International Terminal include Red Rooster, Eagle Boys, Brumby’s. Due to open on 3 December 2008, the terminal will consist of 3,500 square metres of retail space following a $340 million expansion by Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC). Boasting more than 70 retail outlets over four levels, the precinct will include stores in fashion, giftware, souvenirs, arts, travel, food and beverage.

Barry Kairl, BACÕs terminal and retail commercial manager said, “The expansion of the retail area will mean the Terminal can now offer a world-class shopping experience with more variety and options for consumers across four levels.” The terminal already has four million shoppers each year and airport customers consume more than 67,000 cups of coffee in the lounges every year. “We effectively have a captive consumer audience at the Terminal as most people spend at least an hour or two before departure shopping or dining,” said Kairl. With rapid retail growth, more travellers are sure to be attracted to the airport to get a taste of the new world class shopping experience.
