Xtend Barre, the FCA International Franchisor of the Year 2020, has broadened its exercise offer with the introduction of Pilates classes.

The move to diversify means franchisees will have an extra revenue source as existing and new members take up the new Pilates workout.

Improved strength, focused breath work, increased mobility and better coordination are just some of the benefits promised to participants who will also have access to different resistance tools, including Slider Discs, Stretch bands, Weights, and MagiX Circles.

Xtend Barre is part of Collective Wellness Group which also manages the Anytime Fitness franchise chain in Australia.

The US-based barre business was founded by dancer and Pilates instructor Andrea Rogers back in 2011. She created a new workout combining high energy dance with Pilates; a results-driven workout with no ballet shoes, leotards or fancy footwork required.

Xtend Barre has raised the performance levels of its studios in Australia since its launch four years ago. From December 2017 to October 2020 the network has seen a 71 per cent average monthly revenue increase and 110 per cent membership growth.

Today there are more than 23 studios around the country and it’s still growing apace.

The Xtend Barre team plans expansion in key areas of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, with new franchise locations available in and around the major cities of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

The business model suits those with a positive attitude, drive and of course a passion for movement although dance or exercise experience isn’t required.

Franchisees are allocated a dedicated performance coach who specialises in business performance and will work with them on an ongoing basis and provide any additional training needed.

New South Wales multi-unit franchisee Elizabeth Nable was the first Australian franchisee and has become a powerhouse on the Northern Beaches’ fitness scene. In 2019 she was named the MYOB FCA 2019 Excellence in Franchising Awards Franchise Woman of the Year.
