The world’s largest hotel company, the Wyndham Hotel Group, has announced it will enter the Northern Territory with the signing of a franchise agreement for its first hotel in Darwin.

The franchise agreement follows recent announcements from the hotel group for new Ramada resorts in Christchurch, Queenstown and Rotorua in New Zealand. New South Wales and Queensland will also see the addition of new resorts.

“We are excited to introduce the Ramada brand to Darwin as we continue to expand Wyndham Hotel Group’s portfolio throughout South East Asia and the Pacific Rim,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president and managing director, South East Asia and Pacific Rim.

“We are committed to providing quality accommodations in key markets, especially in destinations like Darwin that are increasing in popularity among both international and domestic visitors.”

Ramada has about 840 hotels in over 50 countries.
