Wildlife fundraising at Zarraffa’s Coffee

Queensland-based franchise ZarraffaÍs Coffee has inspired customers and franchisees to donate almost $5000 towards caring for sick and injured native wildlife at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

As part of a larger partnership with the Sanctuary struck in mid-2011, the specialty coffee company installed donation boxes in each of its 50 stores.

In addition to the monies raised ZarraffaÍs has also donated coffee and equipment to operate three kiosks in the Sanctuary from which money will be raised to further assist operations of the not-for-profit organisation.

Jonathan Fisher CEO of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary said that ZarraffaÍs had announced earlier in the year sponsorship equivalent to $70,000 in coffee beans and coffee equipment over two years.

“In the first year this has generated a fourfold return in coffee sales alone”, said Fisher.

Fisher said the Sanctuary was delighted that ZarraffaÍs Coffee customers and franchisees embraced the first of what is hoped to be a regular appeal to raise funds for the Wildlife Hospital.

“This is a significant financial contribution and a great example of business working with conservation.”
