We’re here to stay, says book franchise Dymocks

Dymocks chief executive officer Don Grover has reaffirmed the franchise brand’s position in the retail arena, despite the current shake-up among booksellers.

“Locally owned and operated for 132 years, Dymocks is a strong Australian company and is here to stay,” Grover said. “Our staff are passionate and knowledgeable about books and will continue to remain relevant to our loyal customers who enjoy reading books and seek expert face-to-face advice,” he added.

“The past 12 months have been a hugely challenging time for the bricks and mortar retail industry, let alone the bookselling industry. WeÕve fortunately been able to adapt to the changing environment which has required investment in innovation to continue developing a retail environment that customers are comfortable with — whether it be online or traditional book selling.”

Dymocks launched its franchise system in 1986; it now has 68 Australian stores in operation.
