Franchised convenience store chain 7-Eleven is supporting young Australian creativity with a T-shirt design competition for graphic, design and fashion students in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

The ïSlurpee Tee _ the human canvasÍ competition challenges students to create a screen-print image inspired by their experiences with the frozen carbonated drink.

A judging panel including Video Hits presenter Faustina ïFuzzyÍ Agolley, Stevie fashion designer Lyndon McGauchie and Tony Mott, rock ïnÍ roll photographer will select six finalists who will be invited to lunch for a chance to chat with established artists about all things design.

All finalist entries will be posted online and the winner chosen by the public. The winner receives $5,000 in cash and will see their design printed on t-shirts made available as Slurpee give-away prizes during the summer months.

Slurpee brand manager Lalena King said ñSlurpeeÍs a cheeky irreverent brand that weÍre always having fun with. ‘Slurpee Tee _ the human canvas’ is about celebrating personal expression, so t-shirts feel like the perfect space to exhibit pieces of art that say something special about an individual.

ñWeÍre really excited about letting young designers loose on the Slurpee brand and providing young Australians with a fun career building experience,î she said.

Entries must be submitted by October 13, 2008 on the competition entry form, which can be downloaded from the Slurpee webpage, www.slurpee.com.au/slurpeetee.
