Original Recipe without the bones from KFC

Following on from what was perceived as a successful launch in the USA and UK, fast food chain KFC has introduced its Original Recipe Boneless chicken offering to the Australian market.

The move constitutes a dramatic shift for the brand, considering the Original Recipe chicken product with bones has been its flagship in Australia for the past 45 years.

Designed for customers that do not like bones, the new product comprises boneless, skinless chicken pieces that are coated in the Colonel’s 11 secret herbs and spices.

Valerie Kubizniak, acting chief marketing officer at KFC Australia said the new product represents the brand’s shift towards more contemporary items that cater to new consumer trends.

“With more of our Australian customers now opting for chicken off the bone, the introduction of Original Recipe Boneless is the next step in our ongoing journey to modernise our menu and meet changing consumer needs.

“Original Recipe Boneless gives our customers the flexibility to enjoy KFC without the messiness of the bones, packed with the same great taste people know and love,” added Kubizniak.

Australia is only the third country to receive the new product – it was introduced to consumers in the US and UK earlier this year, where KFC said it was well received.

The Original Recipe Boneless chicken will be available for a limited time only.
