Aussies are embracing Pizza Capers’ new southern inspired pizza, with more than 10,000 ordering the limited time only Bourbon Chicken & Bacon pizza in the first three weeks.

This makes this the most successful Limited Time Only gourmet pizza release in Pizza Capers’ 16 year history.

The Bourbon Chicken & Bacon pizza has rocketed to the third most popular pizza being sold across the country, the Bourbon Chicken Wings have resulted in a doubling of total sides being sold and the Bourbon retail sauce bottles are out of stock at distribution centres.

The success of the Bourbon theme has exhausted more than eight weeks supply of product in just over two weeks.

Pizza Capers founder Scott Geiszler said depleting stocks made for some nervousness last week. “We simply couldn’t believe how quickly stock was diminishing. Our supply partners have been great and we’re expecting stock to be replenished this week”.

All of this demand has occurred while customers in the majority of markets have still yet to see any advertising for the campaign.

“A lot of time and energy went into creating the Bourbon Chicken products range and we believe we’re the first Australian gourmet pizza chain to garnish a pizza with high quality barbeque chicken wings,” Geiszler said.

The new gourmet pizza is part of a flavour range that also includes take-home packs of chicken wings and sauce.

The Bourbon Chicken Flavours range will be available at all Pizza Capers stores until November or until stocks run out.

Pizza Capers was recently voted Australia’s best tasting pizza at the Canstar Blue awards for the second year in a row.
