Retail Food Group (RFG) has big plans for its Brumby’s Bakeries brand, and has appointed Steve Pagett as its new managing director.

Pagett has been involved in the franchising industry for more than 30 years, having previously worked as director of operations at Burger King and general manager at Healthy Habits.

He has also been involved with McDonalds and YUM Brands business KFC.

“Franchising allows business operators to quickly gain expertise across a range of areas, including marketing, procurement, finance and training just to name a few.

“The RFG franchising model provides structure for those wanting to own their own business with the support of a proven system and a proven business model, which is the key to achieving success,” said Pagett.

He said the Brumby’s brand provides franchisees with extensive support and ongoing training so they can achieve their business goals.

RFG’s one million dollar training academy plays a central role in helping franchisees achieve such objectives.

Equipped with seven baking ovens, a simulated store-front and computer and theory classrooms, the academy is designed for both new franchisees and existing franchisees that are looking to polish their skills.

“By equipping new franchisees with the skills they need from the very beginning, and providing ongoing development to existing franchisees, we can foster motivated and successful small business owners who can develop a legion of loyal local customers,” said Pagett.
