Mother-daughter team take on Zarraffa’s

Jemima Harris and her mother Judy Morgan have recently opened a Zarraffa’s Coffee store at Brisbane’s new Oxley Village Shopping Centre.

While she has worked as a Zarraffa’s store manager for the past three years, Jemima had always dreamed of owning her own store.

A number of elements of the business prompted Jemima to invest, including the consistency and flavour of the brand’s beverages and its reputation for producing great quality coffee.

“The decision was an easy one as I had worked in the industry and for the company at the Worongary store,” she said.

“It helped that we both had a love for Zarraffa’s Coffee and its culture.”

Jemima said the shift from company employee to franchisee and employer has contributed to her own personal growth.

“I have learnt new things being involved with the Zarraffa’s community, becoming someone who has a real passion for coffee and a real fan of the Zarraffa’s way of business.”

The new store is situated in a prime location, and Jemina and her mother plan to take an active role in the local community.

“We are excited to open our doors in the new shopping centre, anchored by Woolworth’s and supported by a range of specialty shops catering to locals. It is also an easy stop for commuters to grab their daily coffee.

“We are here to serve our customers the best coffee in town, to be involved in our community and become more than just their local Barista,” she said.

“Many of my previous customers have become friends and we look forward to building these same relationships in our local community, day after day.”

The brand’s CEO Kenton Campbell said the opening aligns with the brand’s existing expansion strategy.

“Our plan in the next 12 to 24 months is to grow responsibly throughout Queensland and Western Australia, in pockets and locations not currently serviced by our brand.

“Supporting our franchisees and their individual businesses is critical to our long term growth as a group and by focussing on the delivery of a quality product and experience, every time,” he said.
