Brumby’s Bakery has signed Matthew Hayden as the Brumby’s Bread Ambassador, news that was announced at Retail Food Group’s 2013 Evolve Franchisee Conference on the Gold Coast.

The newly appointed Bread Ambassador said “I’ve grown up with Brumby’s, just like most Aussies have.

“After almost 40 years in the baking business, they still bake all their bread fresh in store daily using traditional scratch baking methods, and they only use wheat grown and produced by Australian farmers.

“In the past few weeks I’ve spent a weekend on the farm with one of Brumby’s wheat farmers and a shift in store with one of Brumby’s bakers, so I have seen firsthand where the wheat comes from and what goes into each loaf of fresh bread.

“Since retiring from cricket, I’ve dedicated my life to encouraging everyone to enjoy the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle,” said Hayden.

“Making good food choices are just one aspect of living a healthy lifestyle, but one of the most important.”

The retired cricketer has a new focus that sits well in a collaboration with the bread brand, said Brumby’s managing director Kevin Waite .

”Matthew Hayden’s new direction is a demonstration of his dedication to sharing his infectious passion for sustainability, family, community and healthy living – ideals believes are integral to Brumby’s identity.”
