Vegetarian food franchise, Lord of the Fries has opened its sixth store, located in Fitzroy, ahead of further openings in Melbourne and interstate later in the year.

The Fitzroy store, located on Brunswick Street, will be the first in the franchise system to be licensed.

The restaurant has also developed a new specials menu in conjunction with local bloggers. Food bloggers including Vegie Head and Veggie Mama submitted their own ideas for menu items inspired by existing Lord of the Fries sauces and dishes and this if successful, this process will be repeated for future openings.

The Brunswick Street store also offers free Wi-Fi and seating for up to 30, as well as its standard take-away offering.

2012 is the year of growth for Lord of the Fries, said Lord Of The Fries co-founder Mark Koronczyk. We are steadily branching out across Australia, increasing our footprint and taking our quality product offering into the areas where there is demand for our trademark quirkiness and locally-sourced produce with vegetarian, vegan, kosher, Halal and gluten free options.

A company spokesperson told Franchising that Lord of the Fries plans to open two Melbourne stores in the next five months: one in Southern Cross and one on Swanston street, and its first interstate venture will most likely be in Sydney, with Kings Cross and Newtown being considered as potential sites.
